I got the 8 inch skillet and am very pleased with how well balanced it is. Can be used on stovetop as well as over coals. It would be good to note the pan is blued, which I wasn't expecting. The bluing came off the first time I used lemon juice. Not a surprise or big deal, still cooks nicely. Well made, should last for generations.

Very well-made skillets. Nice appearance and heft. Extra long handle should be helpful when in use. Bought both the "baby bear" 8-inch and "papa bear" 12-inch sizes. Here's hoping that Sampson Historical is able to also add a matching 10-inch size forged skillet that is "just right."
