    • Upgrade your haversack with this durable natural linen bag and matching strap and secured with two pewter buttons. In the 18th century, the haversack was a linen bag issued with food rations to soldiers, and the rendition we have constructed is perfect for your military impression.

The word haversack originates from the Dutch term "haverzak" or "hafersach" meaning oat sack and denoting a bag of oats carried for horses.  In 1670 the French can be found using "havresac" to refer to a cavalry trooper's bag for horse provender. By 1735 we begin to find the English using "haversack" as a term.

      Length: 14.5" x Width: 13" x Strap: 44"
